Practical information

There are two bus companies offering transport service to and from Keflavík airport. This is the cheapest and easiest way to get to the city center. The ride from the airport to city bus terminal takes about 40-50 minutes. Both companies offer the services of "+ transfer", i.e. you can purchase a ticket that will bring you all the way to your accommodation. Tickets can be purchased online, on-board Icelandair planes or in the Keflavik Airport arrival hall (after customs).

If your accommodation in Reykjavík is close to the BSI terminal, we recommend walking or taking a city bus or taxi to your accommodation from the BSI terminal instead of using the +transfer. The minibuses will make many stops around the city (letting off passengers) so it is for sure not the fastest way to get your final destination!

Iceland has a relatively mild climate, but marked by frequent weather changes and storminess. For this reason, please make sure that you’ll bring with you rain- and windproof clothes and good shoes for walking if you intend to join the excursion. A warm sweater is also essential. In winter time, November – March, make sure to bring warm gloves and something to keep your head warm!

Icelanders have the fortune of having access to an almost unlimited and inexpensive supply of natural hot and cold water, a resource that is becoming scarce in many places around the world. In addition, Icelanders can be proud of the drinking water quality, which is one of the purest in the world. The cold water from the tap is pure spring water, without any additives such as chlorine.

Don’t miss the swimming pools!
