Live Space
"LIVE SPACE" is an intensive course aiming to create and test an environment and teaching practice for composer/performer students working with electroacoustic music and technology and build a basis for stronger inclusion of this multidisciplinary approach in the curricula of the partner institutions.
The first session of the course took place 22 - 28 April 2024, Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre. The project provided a dynamic, interdisciplinary environment for students to explore and develop skills in electroacoustic music performance and composition within societal and spatial contexts. The consortium developed a coordinated curriculum that emphasised hands-on, student-centred learning and fostered creativity through co-creative projects and immersive group work. A particular strength was the alignment of lectures, workshops and individual/group work, which empowered students to apply theoretical knowledge practically and encouraged collaboration across diverse artistic backgrounds.
The project culminated with public concerts demonstrating how spatial sound can change the reception and perception of music. For the audience it was an opportunity to dive into a sound medium where the traditional criteria of sound perception are no longer valid.
The second session is scheduled for April 2025.
